This as a large pastel painting on paper made after a trip to Greece with Dennis in 1990.  When I first started doing paintings in addition to my ceramic work, I chose pastels because I really loved working with the layers of colors.  Soon, however, I learned that I was getting into yet another fragile, dusty, hard to ship media and switched to study oils.
