Shino Vase 33

Ah, the elusive oranges, browns and creams of shino glazes!  A favorite among potters who understand its caprice. I often fire my shino pieces twice just to toast them up a notch. The little crackles and bubbles are part of the allure to those who like this kind of thing.

Thrown stoneware high-fired to cone ten for durability and beautiful “flashing” in the glaze.  This piece feels sort of like leather.

This vase is about 10 inches tall.
