The Garden of Earthly Disasters

  • In 2011 Dennis and I were asked to join a group of 12 artists invited to receive an extensive education on the issue of Climate Change and respond to that knowledge with a piece of art. What we created was presented to the public in a series of presentations in the Medford/Ashland area of southern Oregon.  The program was called Shifting Patterns and was organized by the Jefferson Nature Center (which sadly not longer exists).

Being a painter of metaphors I came up with several for my response, but when it came time to put paint to canvas all I wanted to do was rant. If the painting remains unsold  by the time I get around to it, I may add two more panels depicting the past and future for a triptych take off on H. Bosch’s Garden of Earthly Delights.
